Excuse a lurker butting in, but wasn't this game's MO to announce a vote publicly, but make the vote via ModPM (hence why the Vote phase had the thread locked).

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong (maybe it was another game I was lurking?) but that was what I thought was happening...

Ah, ninjaed?

That's correct Starver, it could have been even clearer in the OP that this game differed from regular mafia but it was still pretty clear:

NOTE: To move to the voting stage, type vote in red. Any red votes done in thread will be interpreted as a sign to move to the voting stage, so be cautious with it. Any vote you make in the thread is non-binding.

...and NQT ninjas me properly. ;)

Yes, this bit in particular was what I took to mean you can Vote Anybody in public, just to get it moving, but do whatever you want to do only after.

Ayyy, Starver? Who's gonna show up next, TheBiggerFish?

And yeah, the mod made it pretty clear that voting was done over PM.

Would you like to play a game of Mafia? The subforum is always open to new players.

Alright guys. For silly setups, was that enjoyable? Would you be interested in playing it again?
I have to admit that was very fun. If another starts, I'd be IN.

Lucky, voting in the thread is expressly forbidden specifically because you are meant to lie. That's the end goal, really. By having the voting phase separately, it's easier to change your mind.

Also, this was mostly a test run for seeing how this worked. I can make things more obvious.

Basically, this is all a test run to see what would be needed from Mamobo's perspective.
The first is that it needs to have a way for players to join the game in the start up phase.
The second is that it needs to have a way to know when the game begins.
The third is that it'll need to have all actions.
The fourth is that it'll start the Day.
The fifth is that it'll run until Voting Phase.
The sixth is that it needs votes.

Not super complicated, but really easy to modify numbers after that.

Some fixes to the roles that exist:
Drunk now grabs from the Middle Roles.
Seer can now choose to view two Middle Roles or one Player role.
Werewolf can now see a Middle Role if they are the only Werewolf.
Minion is now Werewolf-Ally. Werewolf-Allies are players that are aligned with the Werewolf team, but do not count as a Werewolf. Werewolf-Allies must kill a Villager and be alive to win if no Werewolves are present.

Adding in the following roles:
Artificer: Villager. Gives an Artifact that modifies the Role of the player.
Aura Seer: Villager. Gets a list of all players that moved or viewed Roles.
Cursed: Villager. Joins the Werewolf team if voted by a Werewolf
Apprentice Tanner: Tanner-Ally. Wins if the Tanner is killed. If there is no Tanner, wins if killed.
Squire: Werewolf-Ally. Checks the Werewolves to see if their role changed.
Beholder: Villager. Checks the Seer or Apprentice Seer to see if their role changed. (NOTE: Seems powerful... Might not add this one.)
Thing: Villager. Lets a player adjacent to them know they are the Thing.
Nostradamus: Villager. Views up to three roles. If they see a Werewolf or Tanner, stops viewing any remaining roles and becomes that Alignment. Nostradamus' Alignment is announced at Day start. If Nostradamus is a Middle Role, a random Alignment is assigned to Nostradamus.

Removing or modifying requirements:
Removing Troublemaker until further notice.
Limit of one Werewolf-Ally/Paranormal Investigator with Alpha Wolf.
Limit of two Werewolf-Allies/Paranormal Investigator.

Anything else you guys think would make this game mode more enjoyable?
