Halp! Wrong ore?
« on: October 15, 2007, 03:22:00 pm »

So, I've got a possessed would-be leatherworker, and while I had to scramble to get the raw crystal glass he needed, he got back to his shop in time, and I thought it would be fine.  But... he just stood there.  I know he's gotten leather, ore, and the glass, and his ravings suggest he wants more ore.

Thing is, this time around I've gotten all of the ore I'd be able to get.  Copper, zinc, tin, gold, platinum, silver, and iron... all of them are sitting around in their raw forms, generally in abundance.  I have no idea what he might be wanting.  At this point, it's taken so long that he's basically a loss, but is it possible that he wants adamantite, even though I haven't even crossed the magma river yet?  I doubt coal counts as a possible mood-ore... does it?

Bah, never mind.  I read it wrong.  He apparently wants *ANOTHER* raw crystal glass.

A better display of how many of each thing would help, too.
(Besides showing each item for a longer time.)

I don`t suppose that anyone's managed a hack to change the gem and mineral preferences of dwarves? Or to change the requirements of a possessed dwarf? I'd try myself but I've no idea where to begin.

A number countdown.

1. Urist Ironhammer yells, "I must have raw gems!"
2. Urist Ironhammer yells, "I must have raw gems!"
3. Urist Ironhammer yells, "I must have a kitten!"

and so on.

Homophone error: the word you're looking for is "to". ;-)

DF sets out a challenge to us with no explanation and no assistance, and each time we fail it becomes more merciless, but we continue in the hopes that we can show it, "See?  I'm doing good, right?  I kept the little men alive!  You're proud of me, right?"
