On the 11th day of the 3rd month, our second science vessel is completed and a new scientist selected to lead it. It is eventually decided that the young Bagglosch will be recruited and replace our current Society researcher, who will in turn lead the new vessel.
Two months later, on the 25th day of the 5th month, our vessel arrives at Borce and makes an unprecedented discovery- alien life!
Borce III, the third planet from the Borce system's star, is a moderately sized desert world believed suitable for Gorothi habitation. Interesting geothermal and aural activity render the planet instructive enough to warrant a science station should we not wish to colonize it properly.
Unnervingly, the survey team could not confirm the presence of any hungering gods dreaming just beneath the planet's surface. Proper habitation might require... transplanting.
Months after it began, we finally complete our first major agricultural project since attaining true supremacy of the void. We anticipate additional nutrients for both ourselves and the Gods.
On the 5th day of the 8th month, our home science vessel finds something... strange. The project is deemed well above any of our current specialist's abilities, and so left for now.
Being located on Riblagga does not help.
On the 25th day of the 9th month, our mining station officially comes online and begins operations in earnest. While it is estimated that it will take years for the station's output to break even with its construction cost, it nonetheless represents an important step forward and polls very well.
Precisely one month later, we encounter alien life- spacefaring alien life, that is.
Needless to say, this generates quite a bit of excitement.
Two days later, the scientist in charge of surveying our home system reports improved performance on his periodic review. We'll need brilliant minds like his if we're to determine our new neighbors' nutritional value.
Which, based on a purely unscientific analysis of data recorded by our military fleet, is probably rather low. Additionally they might be able to easily wipe out our entire fleet, which makes harvesting them difficult.
Less than a month later, on the 15th day of the 11th month, we encounter a second, different sort of alien.
While unofficial analyses rates their nutritional odds as better, the odds of being able to bring one down rate far, far worse.
On the 27th day of the 12th month, only days before this report was to be compiled and sent to the Grand Muftis for review, we encounter a third alien.
Our fleet apparently had difficulties getting better images of them, but their power and nutritional value seem similar to the first aliens we uncovered. If this is a preview of the delicacies space has to offer, we may be very disappointed.
