Discord is a free chat, that has both a desktop app and a web version, alongside mobile editons

Mumble is better usually for voice chat in my experience. Discord keeps text chat history, which is neat, but you might as well just use the forum.

Hey guys. Reviving this threat, because we revived the Discord :) We're and running again, we has sub-chats, we have a cool little link to the channel on the r/dwarffortress sidebar. We changed the Discord from the unofficial Bay12-discord to just Dwarf Fortress Discord.

So yeah, it's a pretty good time to join now, so come by :)
