Experimenting with WebGL-based 3D rendering
« on: March 16, 2016, 07:41:18 am »

Recently I've posted about my experiments with 3D view for my iOS app, but also I was thinking about a WebGL-based online map viewer. Unfortunately, I couldn't get decent performance in browser (on modern hardware in Chrome it was fine), so had to use nasty tricks (better use Chrome anyway). Need to think what to do with all this now.

Already that you are there...
Dont forget to place a [LITTERSIZE:9999:9999] in the creature raws. So every community member could have one of those wonderful beings.  ;D :P  Naturally the first one will be for Toady.

Impresive! On chrome the performance is very good: 60 FPS. (hint: if anyone does not see anything... hit a key)

mifki: It is the zoom(-+) in your TODO?

As Chrome is cross platform and have working version for linux, Mac and windows.
I do not see nothing bad, in developping specifically for chrome if their WEBGL support is better.
