Well, it's a quantity thing, and likely means we have the ability to run three different production lines.

Either way, setting up on the edge of the settlement and better tools seems like the best option.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

 Week 1 of many, 10-26-129

Why should one focus on outside appearance without first making certain that the basics are dealt with? Better to have a product to sell than a fancy place to sell in.
Atleast, that appears to be some of your reasoning behind why you are now sitting in one of three shipping containers on a fairly large chunk of land outside Rapid Springs. Well, its fairly close to town, a few years of development should see the town meet you, and if it hadent been for your new friend in the land development market you would have nothing like asmuch land. And speaking of new friends, others have gotten you lines on competition and some sources of material.

Now, only two sources of competition are actually in town. And neither actually make any of their own stock, which is a bit of a mixed blessing, since they probably take longer to fix things and do custom jobbies but also have a fair deal of weight behind them.
The first of these, the local branch office of the somewhat amusingly named Smith and Winston arms company, is located right on the main drag in town, and are mostly the rich human's source for fancy hand guns. And by fancy, I mean gold engravings, platinum grips, the whole nine yards. Since they dont get much market in such fancy things they also sell less adorned versions of the guns.
Now, the second, thats a bit more worrying for you. The New Haven Arms Consortium is a collection of various companies that make everything from single shot guns to heavy artillery for the central government, and boy, do they crank out the guns. However, they dont do aswell with customer service or repairs.

In any event, you have these three old shipping containers gotten from the docks for a song, a pile of tools(some from your last job, some gotten cheap from this gun getting outta the business), a lot of land bought cheap, and a bit of Central Government Credit Units, or CGCUs for short.

 Now what?

Review contacts, yeah, but see how much it is to at least get a rough wood workshop up and running before we resort to shipping containers. :P

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Here you guys go, all eight major contacts, all created semi-randomly. They can help you out mostly in what sorta thing they are in. And no, I did not intend for you guys to have quite somany shipping contacts.

Spoiler: Contacts (click to show/hide)

So, try to get cost of construction from one of them or from others?

Javed sounds like the best bet on construction materials, and he might know a contractor or two(or just laborers)

We should also visit all of our local contacts (Sila Tesarik, Gerd Botwright, Lawrence Ramos, Placide Snijders, Moisés Accorsi, Javed Aziz) or at least contact them let them know we're setting up shop in town, ask about pontential bussiness dealings, and to see how they're doing.

Contacting your intown contacts dosent change toomuch, besides offers from Javed Aziz and Gerd Botwright to sell for you in town (for a cut, of course) or to act as retail outlets and a promise from Lawrence Ramos to pass on specifics for any weapon the local government may want to buy. Afterall, getting it from a local sourse saves money and time, right?

Javed does say that he thinks he knows a guy who could throw up a structure of some flavor, although it would probably better to modify one of your shipping containers.

Sorry for the wait, updates should come more often now.

ah, to hell with it. I think I left this game a tad too freeform again, and assutch its already been sapping my will to run it. Unless someone really wants to keep this game going, I think its time to put a round into its head in favor of a more restrictive but faster game more akin to the arms race games.
