Join me in this game.  It needs players!

I had low hopes for it early on.  Development started off really slow, and they put out early access when the game was the barest of skeletons.  And there were no players.  But I checked back into it the other day, and it's come a long way.  I plays smoother than UT, and there's people online now.  I'm really digging it.  I just need more people to shoot with rockets!

Here's what looks to be a fairly high level duel.   My movement tricks are not nearly so precise as this guy's.  But it shows off how open-ended the movement style of the game is, similar to older arena FPS.

Here's some more typical gameplay in a free-for-all deathmatch.  This guy looks like he's at about the same level I was at my peak back in 1998 or so on Quake 1.  This is more like what you'll see at the top of the scoreboard on a crowded deathmatch server.

Art style and gameplay are very clean, smooth, and minimalist.  General feel they're going for is somewhere between Quake 1 and 3.  Presentation is very modern.  Comparable to Portal in aesthetics, even.  But the design philosophies are very old-school.

The most important thing is it seems to be gaining momentum.  It was barely playable when first released late 2014, and not much seemed to be happening with it the first few months, so I stopped paying attention.  But I checked back in on it the other day, and the game is completely different.  Everything is beautiful, and there are just enough people playing that you can hop on and find some game without too much trouble.  And it looks like they're progressing at the pace of 1 or 2 major updates a month.

Seems there's not a lot of media online that's easy to grab for showing the game off.  So I'll hop on myself and see about grabbing some screenshots.

So... it's basically Quake 3 from the looks of it. Similar weapons with a slightly different aesthetics
1 minute into the video i saw the railgun rocket launcher and plasma gun complete with their old tricks (rocket jumps and plasma gun wall climbing)

Didn't know plasma gun wall climbing was ever a thing before.  I could never get into Quake 3.  It didn't feel right.  Slower paced movement, more friction, less acrobatics, and I always fucking hated the railgun.  This game has a railgun, but it's not a 1 hit kill.  It's really in-between Quake 1 and 3.

It also runs really well.  I get around 90 FPS at full settings on 2560x1600 resolution.  My computer is pretty good, but not beastly.  My core components are like 4 years old, and my graphics card is like 16 months old.
