don't get it, tho. if free will exists, are prayers a thing? if only god gets to interfere, does he? and why?

There's a number of different viewpoints on the matter which would be more appropriate to discuss in the religion thread.
In my view prayer is a good thing to do because it relieves the stress of having to deal with something on our own. When we can say, "this is in God's hands", it lightens the burden, and puts us in a better position to deal with hardships.
Actual intercession would be a miracle, and miracles are miracles because they don't happen every day. Expecting a miracle is missing the point of prayer, but it certainly helps when there's hope.

Yea, I should keep the theological discussions out of this thread probably. Just don't understand it I guess. But it is nice that people are wishing well to each other. Sorry if I'm being an ignorant bastard about all of this.

My mom needs professional mental health care, and that is the one thing that I can't secure for her. She's depressed, very unfulfilled and bitter, and suffers from anxiety attacks that leave her barely able to go anywhere by herself.

I've done all that I can and more, and I still am, but it never feels like enough. I can't keep up anymore. She's given up hope, and it's harder and harder to keep my own alive.

I need prayers for wednsday, they are finally convicting the guy that killed my friend.

Guy was drunk and driving/racing with his friends. Going 80mph on a 45mph curvy road in the morning trying to beat the school buses so they wouldn't get caught in traffic I guess.
My friend was waiting by his mail box when the guy flew around the corner and hit him.
It's been over a year and they are just now convicting him.
