Trading Foodstuffs
« on: April 04, 2016, 08:46:32 am »

A minor thing, but could we get rid of the "trade 1 vs trade all" option when trading for food or plant goods?

I get tired of having to hit "enter" twice. I could understand it if this were an item that had significant cost, but the difference between buying one unit of kea heart versus five is negligible, so there's really no reason why we should have to hit enter, punch in a number, and hit enter again.

Shift+Enter would be a nice way to tell the game "buy me everything", and Ctrl+Enter would be a good way to buy one unit of whatever.

I wouldn't want the "how many" query to go away in the cases where it's relavent, but something altered with a command key would probably work out great.

Pressing Shift-Down already eliminates the need to hit enter twice, as it selects the entire stack.

But doesn't that then select the entire wagonload of stuff?

If not, I was mistaken. Thanks.

Shift-Enter selects the whole list. Shift-Down selects single entries on the list, which includes entire stacks. Now, I use dfhack. This might be a feature of dfhack. But I don't think so. I like to use Shift-Enter after filtering. So I'll type in "sand bag," Enter, and then Shift-Enter. Boom. All sand bags are selected.

Pretty sure shift+down is a dfhack thing. At the very least, if it is in vanilla, it never tells you about it at any point.

I was going to say "fail spectacularly", but you guys seem to be doing a great job of that already.

I'm pretty sure I saw not all food types act like that.
Perhaps it has something to do with the raw?
