Kobold law-enforcement
« on: April 09, 2007, 04:14:00 pm »

Here's a weird thing that just happened to me.

It was an average day in the fortress.  The Sheriff was running the novice wrestlers on parade drills just outside the front gate.  Suddenly he spotted a chance to give the troops some real combat experience.  A woodcutter had discovered a kobold thief lurking in the shrubberies some 20 yards from the fortress gate.  Before the sheriff could take a single step, 4 kobold archers sprang an ambush!  Taking careful aim they fired their deadly missiles... at the kobold thief.  Seconds later he lay dead with most major organs punctured.  The archers, without even speaking to the astonished dwarves, vanished off to the north, never to be seen again.

I'm thinking the thief just got caught by some hunter-killer kobold law-enforcement.  Makes the sheriff look downright friendly.

He was a good kobold... he actually came to warn you about the invasion but got caught.

Perhaps they tried to shoot your dwarfs but instead got the Kobold and then left out of sheer embarrassment?

Something about a kobold death squad hunting down and doling out punishment to someone who is in the middle of a mission in hostile territory just strikes me as oh-so-cool.  Even though this is most likely a bug, I think it should be made into an honest feature of the game. =)
