No, someone's infinite wisdom determined that the 'job' keyword that's conventionally used for many years to ask someone's profession now bubbles up to the top of the list a request for the establishment's services.

If meadhalls ever start serving mead, I don't think the lord will be the one bringing it to you.

Sorry, it was the other way around. NOW I'm used to using the 'job' keyword because 'prof' resulted in unpleasant surprises as of 42.xx

yeah meadhalls are not taverns and no one in a meadhall serves food. meadhalls are just another name for castle in DF

DF isn't the only place where mead halls were the residence of a lord; it's based on real-life historical facts. In medieval Norse countries, lords had "mead halls" whose purpose was not necessarily storing and serving mead. They were used as a feast hall, but also as the residence of the lord and his retainers, and as his throne room and base of political operations. This is directly reflected in DF, as the lords just kind of hang around in there with a small army, maybe a couple of homeless guys and kids, and possibly a religious leader or two, along with keeping their stockpiles of weapons and armor there.

Yeah, but meadhalls should contain mead as a matter of course. If your meadhall doesn't come with mead, send it back and order another.

to be fair old old school dwarf fortress had Literal meadhalls with tables and Inns set up for food and services where the local leader hangs out.
that got changed and altered when toady went pre-generated so now meadhalls are just local army storage centers and everyone go to the tavern(which is separate from the "meadhall") for mead and sleep.
