Today, I was running a test fort when I experienced a vanishing siege. After I retired the fort and checked legends, I found the vanishing siege. To my surprise, the civilization that sent it had also sent two real sieges that I fought off before and after the vanishing siege.

So this bug can occur to civilizations that normally interact with you.

A pity. I hoped I'd found some kind of starting point to look for the reason. That all sieges come from the same civ isn't surprising in itself, since I believe that's the way it's supposed to be, but a hello/goodby in the middle of it all doesn't make any sense (until, of course, the cause is found). And I assume you looked at the attacking civ to see if something odd happened to it in between the normal sieges (such as losing and reclaiming the settlement the siege was sent from. Wishful thinking...).
