Madam Mayor's visitor's center is complete.  A retracting bridge from the entrance to Stabcaves is two z-levels above the DF.  The gold statues in the visitor's room are grotesque statues of horribly violent slayings by the Mayor works of art.  The statue room is to the north with an exit for the Mayor that opens only if the mayor needs to meet visitors who prefer to stay outside.  To the south is the liaison meeting room.  The iron door only opens once a year to let the liaison in.  The dwarf stationed on the south side of the iron bars is to make sure nothing horrible happens to the liaison keep an eye on the gold furniture.  To the east are the Mayor's living quarters, complete with training area, a comprehensive set of masterpiece weapons, dining area, and, yes, a small pack of war dogs (more to come; I haven't had the luck in getting a breeding pair).  Then there is the bed room.

Once some visitors come, I will update with a new image and let you know how it goes.

It is my birthday today and this is the best present a BAY12 member could ask for: implementation of a complex violence machine.

Indeed, it is a work of art and will be ohhhhh soooo much fun!!!!

Bad news, though, I think it has scared off the ol' gobbies and elves.  Two years have passed and not even a buzzard has shown up.  Word must be out.  Madam Mayor is truly a terrifying killing machine with absolutely no sense of mercy or compassion a good negotiator with elves and goblins and sometimes comes on a little strong in conversation.

And happy B-Day Dunamisdeos!  Indeed, it was your inspiration that led to Madam Mayor's visitor's center.

The goblin attack finally came.  There were hundreds.  Blood, Steel, Gore, and a Retracting Bridge.

Madam Mayor took down her first two waves of visitors while casualties mounted at the gate of Stabcaves.

But the third wave was too much...

She slaughtered twenty or so goblins, trolls and beak dogs before... yes... she had too much.

She went down fighting with a battle axe, but her preferred weapon was always a spear.

The new mayor, a 125 year old miner who was one of the original seven and militia commander when Madam Mayor first joined the army, has a preference for spears.  Out of respect, I think so...

Dunamisedeos, I must believe that it is a long overdue form of dwarvish justice she would have wanted this.  Those who live by murder, mayhem, and slaughter the sword die by being overwhelmed by monsters and evil creatures that think the same way as you and are probably your relatives the sword.

Bury her in her in the golden luxury of her room.

Guard her coffin with dogs of the finest breed.

Fill her tomb with the magled corpses of the fortress's fallen enemies. Pill her tomb high with the bones of the lesser goblins, the bodies of metallic titans and forgotten beasts. Deck the halls with the splattered entrails of the feeble foliage fondling fey. Their rotting remains will remind all that dare attack your monument of dwarven honor. significant items of hers, and valued treasures.

Find a necromancer and raise her back from the dead to serve in her opulent death room.

You must go on an epic quest to save her from death. Search across the far world to learn the secrets to life and death. Take the secret back to your fort and fill the library with the knowledge. The death will be tossed aside in order to save the madam mayor.
