Move instead of trying to pull it out manually.

Change your speed, jump to knock a clear path and get some room, multi-attack+dodge to an open square and your weapon comes with you.

Does the time it takes to pull the weapon out become shorter with higher wrestling skill? It's technically a wrestling action.

Moving into the opponent will pull it out faster in game-time than futzing with the menu, and faster than normal moves. If you have a shield you can time it to wait for their attack, block, then move into them, and they'll still be recovering. Not possible if they're on the same tile, though.

A kinda cheap move to gain possession of a weapon is to jump into the enemy, this not only gains you possession of a grabbed/stuck weapon, it also sends the opponent flying and can cause massive injuries.

Move instead of trying to pull it out manually.

Pretty much this. A shame there's such a quick, painless way. It's more interesting when you choose to interact and wrestle for control.

After you've accumulated 4 pages of loot and gear and food, it's not fun. It's tedious skimming through a list of things that can't be interacted with just to find the one thing at the end that clearly can be. Every goddamn time. I'm glad any other solution is more optimal than using that, because it takes the fun out of the fight.
