My world was in the age of the hill titan, so i wanted to kill it to change the age. So, long story short, i went to this hill titan's shrine thing, and i killed it. But after retiring my character, it still says age of hill titan, even though i killed it. Do ages change in adventure mode? Do i have to start a fort to make it change or something?

The age only changes over on New Years, so that would almost certainly be it.

I killed the correct one. I checked in legends. Are you sure the age only changes on new years?

I don't know about a year, but there definitely is a delay. Once in DF 2012, I had killed the majority of the world's megabeasts, but the age did not change to "Age of Legends" until I started a fort.

Keep in mind this was before world activation, so nothing happened between me killing the megabeasts and starting the fort besides skipping to Spring of next year.

What if after slaying the titan you inherited the title, and now the age is named after you?

The relationship between Adventure mode and Legends is a bit wonky, I think, hence things like the Bremen Town Military.

100%. I know this from having the age change while I was playing adventure mode.

It's not just adventure mode. The year the titan dies will be the last year of the Age of the Titan. The next year will be the first year of the new age. Logical?

Aye, a year after the death it changes. I had a world where I used fort mode to kill the Titan, was confused when it didn't change the age, so I thought it was bugged and still alive ( You know the 0.40 bug where they didn't "die" after being killed, leaving and going back to site) then randomly in adventure mode it said "The age is now the age of goblins" turns out it was new years too.
