Long-term resident mandates?
« on: December 06, 2015, 11:41:18 pm »

After getting a petition for a bard to live in my fort (one of my first long-term residents) and having her spend nearly 5 years of preforming in my fort, she became a noble for some other place.

Well, that's interesting. I guess I have to increase her bedroom rating.

After a bit of time (literally about two minutes,) she makes a mandate.

Checking the noble list doesn't show her on there.

I can only see the mandate through her actual page itself.

Is this a bug, or are long term residents not supposed to show up on the list?

Its gonna be pretty annoying having to check to see if she ever makes a mandate... especially since I don't stare at the actual DF screen 24/7 while I play it.

That does sound like a great scam.

Show up to some random bar as a nobody. After a few months declare you've inherited a title and start ordering people around. Cynical barkeep informs her majesty that her tab and room rent is due.

You should try trading away some of the banned items and see if the foreign noble can issue orders to your justice system too.

"Ma'am, it's about time you paid your tab..."
"Pay my tab.. uh... well... you see... I'm actually a noble who doesn't have to pay for anything."
"Oh yeah? Of what holding?"
"Uh... You know..."

It is a known bug.

I actually skimmed Mantis but didn't see it. It's fairly early, maybe its just the sleep clouding my eyes.
Thanks for the reply.

My traders left right before the announcement... but I'm guessing the justice would still hold up for my poor broker (or whoever carried it there.)
