Well, I haven't played enough to give a solid review, that's why I posted the link to the review of it instead of going off on my own big review lol.
I was just wondering if anyone else might play it. Right now I'm still figuring it out myself.
It's basically a space RPG with skills you level up and various ways to make money and gain experience - fighting pirates for their bounty, doing missions, trading, mining. Controls are kind of like Eve in that you can tell your ship to orbit another and have your turrets and missiles fire at it. You can also dogfight with lasers, although it's a bit odd because you have a button to turn lasers on and off instead of it being click to shoot and the lasers autotarget as long as you're aiming in the general vicinity. It was designed to work well on tablets as well as PC, I suspect that's why the controls are that way. So don't expect an action space shooter. You can get wingmen to fight with you and command them on who to attack and who to help and such. And you can buy multiple ships and have extra ships fly around trading or mining for you. Trading is fairly simplistic in that prices vary on everything based on how far you are away from the supplier of it. If the nearest supplier of something is 1 jump away the price is inflated about 10%, and you can buy/sell at same prices. I think distance price difference is linear, so every jump further away gives you another 10% of the value assuming that jump doesn't put you closer to another supplier of it. Mining you just shoot rocks and tractor in the stuff. You can apparently mine iron and platinum and diamonds and stuff but I have only seen iron so far.
Every faction in the game has a particular perk, like the ability to learn a new skill or pilot a different type of ship. You do missions to raise faction. I'm not sure how to get the perk yet, I think you just need a high faction standing and to do a special mission for them. Shooting their ships gives you a negative to relation. I think some factions might fight others, since I was doing missions for one faction and the next thing I knew I was hostile to a different one and had their ships attacking me.
The game is a bit lacking on the documentation side, I still don't know what certain buttons do exactly. I may have skipped a tutorial somewhere, I'm not sure.
