I was wondering if anyone else has played this. It's an indie space game with an open world and a main quest line. It reminds me a lot of EVE, with similar controls (like orbit ship and fire weapons, although you can take manual control and dogfight with a laser if you want to); and ship load out strategies like tanking with speed, shields, armor, or range. The skill system is more like a traditional RPG with experience points and spending them to upgrade skills. You have your basic fetch, deliver, escort, and kill quests with a few alterations like kill 3 at once or kill a bigger ship class.

Here is a review from 2013: http://www.spacegamejunkie.com/reviews/dangerous-combat-quests-fun/

And a link to the game's website: http://whoisdangerous.com/

It seems to be a pretty decent space game. Probably the best space game on a mobile platform I've seen (I have it on Windows, but it's available on IOS and Android). It has horrible Steam reviews, but mostly because people mistook it for Elite:Dangerous.

Anyone else play it?

You spent your post on another 'gate, and way too little time describing the actual game. (talk about ethics in game journalism, amirite? No? ok.) So could you do that? Is it some kind of flight-sim in space, like Wing Commander?

Well, I haven't played enough to give a solid review, that's why I posted the link to the review of it instead of going off on my own big review lol.

I was just wondering if anyone else might play it. Right now I'm still figuring it out myself.

It's basically a space RPG with skills you level up and various ways to make money and gain experience - fighting pirates for their bounty, doing missions, trading, mining. Controls are kind of like Eve in that you can tell your ship to orbit another and have your turrets and missiles fire at it. You can also dogfight with lasers, although it's a bit odd because you have a button to turn lasers on and off instead of it being click to shoot and the lasers autotarget as long as you're aiming in the general vicinity. It was designed to work well on tablets as well as PC, I suspect that's why the controls are that way. So don't expect an action space shooter. You can get wingmen to fight with you and command them on who to attack and who to help and such. And you can buy multiple ships and have extra ships fly around trading or mining for you. Trading is fairly simplistic in that prices vary on everything based on how far you are away from the supplier of it. If the nearest supplier of something is 1 jump away the price is inflated about 10%, and you can buy/sell at same prices. I think distance price difference is linear, so every jump further away gives you another 10% of the value assuming that jump doesn't put you closer to another supplier of it. Mining you just shoot rocks and tractor in the stuff. You can apparently mine iron and platinum and diamonds and stuff but I have only seen iron so far.

Every faction in the game has a particular perk, like the ability to learn a new skill or pilot a different type of ship. You do missions to raise faction. I'm not sure how to get the perk yet, I think you just need a high faction standing and to do a special mission for them. Shooting their ships gives you a negative to relation. I think some factions might fight others, since I was doing missions for one faction and the next thing I knew I was hostile to a different one and had their ships attacking me.

The game is a bit lacking on the documentation side, I still don't know what certain buttons do exactly. I may have skipped a tutorial somewhere, I'm not sure.

It sounds like it was never finished.

Pretty much, yeah. If you read the Steam Greenlight where they were launching onto Steam they had planned to add this whole other aspect of it where you can walk around on your ship and board and capture enemy ships and command the bigger ships from a bridge with officers. It looks like the flopped Steam release made them move on to other games. I haven't seen any bugs yet so it's pretty good in the polish regard, it just doesn't have the features they had originally planned for it.
