Erek Revision

You revise the Erek fighter craft, attempting to resolve the maneuverability issues, and make the craft cheaper. The team succeeds in the first endavour by installing some maneuvering rockets, but not in the second goal.

The Erek Fighter Craft is a high speed, heavily armed air superiority fighter. The droplet shaped craft, build around a fusion scramjet that provides shows legacy of the Kal Terek's space centric lifestyle, having no clearly definable top or bottom. It's a VTOL craft, capable of reaching speeds up to Mach 6, though it can't utilize it weapons near top speed due to power and overheating concerns. It sports an integrated gauss cannon, and mounts that allow for the installation of 4 smaller weapons (lasers, for the moment), as well as external mounts that allow for the eventual installation of missile weaponry (none at this moment). All is controlled by an adaptive AI system, which can learn and adapt to enemy attacks. Batch Size: 1

As a question, if we were to make a missile system or other weapons next turn could we retrofit existing craft at no cost?
Vehicles noted as having modular weapon systems, yes, if applicable. (No installing a battleship turret on that little drone you have).

Alright, for our research phase, would some more effort directed towards further developing our AI be good?

It is hard to know what to research when you are leading in all technologies...

How about we research ways to make our equipment self-destruct when damaged? New materials that can dissolve on command that kind of stuff. We need to prevent them from getting all our sweet technology.

That's easily done by ensuring that don't destroy ours, plain and simple.

Oh yeah, a couple of production line plans:

A: Four lines Erek Fighters, Two lines ICDs.

B: Two lines Ereks, Two lines Karsts, Two lines ICDs.

Frankly, Id favor no Erek at all. What we managed to do is basically an alien F-35. Id much rather have four Kik than a single Erek.

Also, we cant really prevent them from destroying our stuff, can we? Even when we dont really take losses (like that raid on that island in the first turn), we still leave a few casualties behind ( just not enough to destroy a whole unit).

I mean, sure, if you have a fool proof plan to make our troops invincible, lets go for it, but otherwise, I think self-destruct might be nice.

Hey, that's not really a fair assessment. I mean, we actually have it out of development compared to the F-35 :P

Still, do you really think that one Erek is better than four KiK? It goes at the same speed. Its advantages are heavier armament and better AI, and thats it.

Maybe we could produce one or two to field-test them, but I think we wasted a turn.

It can reach the same speed without disintegrating, and holds a much heavier armament in comparison. I'd say it it's on par with about four Ki'Ks.

Either way, adaptive AI is a pretty big step up, since we can slap those nearly everywhere, and start building things like mechs or autonomous robots.

I wonder if we can combine flights of Erek and KiK, using the Erek AI to coordinate the smaller drones.

That would be pretty great actually. I had thought of that idea, but dismissed it for whatever reason. Networking our air forces like that would be pretty efficient.

If we build Erek fighters this turn we can develop some missile pods next turn to equip to them.  I think that building the fighters and using a combined fighter/drone task force to damage the submarine and counter-attack their air forces would be a good idea.

Supporting
A: Four lines Erek Fighters, Two lines ICDs.

Send attack forces to Africa again, have a defensive force in SA, and use our airforce to take out the submarine and reinforcements.

Is there any support for my human detection systems and stealth craft research or did you want another form of research?

We each wants diffferent research. Also, I hate your production plan with a passion.

+1 to self destructing technology research

+1 to both.
