- You ought to be able to get jugs out of bins by dumping the jugs. That method works for solving the bugged lye bucket in barrel case.
- You should be able to create a new leather industry by capturing, training, and breeding suitable cavern critters (or surface ones). Giant bats live a fairly long time but mature in one year and do not require nest boxes. Crundles are egg laying and are adult at birth, so they cannot be domesticated, and are probably a poor choice for that reason. Giant rats and naked mole dogs are short lived, and thus a pain to breed. DT can help you with the culling by sorting animals according to age, so you can cull the older ones first, though.

To be honest I've never dumped anything! No clue how its done.
The wiki keeps crashing my phones browser 2 weeks now, no idea why.
And wont dumping a jug dump it on the floor? Or do you mean dump the bin?

"Normal" dumping is done by 'v'iewing an object and select 'd'ump. This will cause the object to be scheduled to be hauled to a zone marked as a dump zone (I only use single tile dump zones, so all dumped objects end up on the same tile, the same was as for a "proper" quantum stockpile). After an object has been dumped (i.e. hauled to a dump zone), it will no longer be marked for dumping, but it WILL be marked as 'f'orbidden. Unforbidding the item will then allow dorfs to pick it up again, but if you've placed a stockpile suitable for filled jugs at the same tile as the dump zone the jugs won't be hauled back to the stockpile it was dumped from.
Dumping an item inside another item requires you to enter a 'v'iewed container to see what's inside, and then enter the items one at a time and mark them for dumping (marking for dumping at the top level inside will mark the container itself for dumping, which will probably cause it to be dumped with the jugs still inside).
The dumped jug will indeed end up at the floor, but unless you mark the contents of the jug for dumping, you'd end up with the jug at a different location outside the bin but with the oil still inside the jug, as per the above.

Wow, I think that was the most concise, yet detailed, instruction for doing anything in df I've ever seen!!! Awesome job! I shuold have no trouble getting anyting dumped from now on.
  Thanks a million!!

P.s. trees are being felled at a hellish rate, huge wood stockpiles are being (re)built.
Map is turning green from vomit :) block stockpiles preplaced are full. As soon as logs are hauled the paving will resume.
Duchess happiness now 201.3k down from alomost 209k.
Convicting/jailing vamp3 helped. As did her spinning 2 masterwork cloths.(dream realized).

Lesson learned: if you want to end agreement with elves, lockup the nobles so they can't meet.
just be prepared ;)

  Thanks again,
