 A bunch of time space vortexes have pulled in characters from all time periods and lands to one place, Song City town square. In an effort to track/ keep down the population of Vortex arrivals, the Song City Police implanted tiny nanochips in every new-comer with a lethal substance inside that can be released on command. Now however, the mayor says that he has found a way to bring people back through the vortexes to their own lands. But since it takes the power of about 25 souls to create the gate back home per a person, he has arranged a dance battle contest in which the winners go home through portals powered by the souls of the losers. Right now you have 2 choices, play, or be killed for your soul...

GROOVE MATRIX ACTIVATED

A GROOVE BATTLE initiates. The rules are as follows:

Each turn, along with a normal combat action, the GROOVE BATTLERS can choose a song - any song - and link to it here. Once consensus on a song has been reached, the song will grant the GROOVE BATTLER who chose it a temporary bonus, ability or similar boon.

Instead of HP, the battlers work to deplete each others' GROOVE MATRIX. Choosing particularly action- or situation-appropriate themes fills your GROOVE MATRIX, but taking damage depletes it!

If your GROOVE MATRIX fills to the top, you'll execute a SPECIAL MOVE!

Ready, set, GROOVE!

I'm not sure if anyone has created an entire RTD or whatever based on this but hay, its inspired by The Warrens of Oric The Awesome. What could go wrong?

So basic rules are the rules given by FFS for this battle style but with a few extras.
1. The character cue, there can be no more than 8 players in the game at 1 time, All other characters are put onto a waiting list.
2. You can only have 1 player in game or on the waiting list at a time.
3. The losers of Dance Offs/Battles are killed by a nanochip device which has been implanted into your characters body upon entering the game and can not be resubmitted/resurrected(In mult mode only)

Yep, gonna join this! Question, are we our avatars, or do we get to pick characters from other fiction?

You get to create a character. Choose the backstory, choose their trates (I will roll your character for stats if stats are even included in game. It will probably just be luck/ my majority song preference determining  how everything goes.)
