003A-02 Sandstone - 02Timber, 104 Arriving on site the next day, onul dropped out of fast travel a full 2 tiles before she was forced to and immediately crawled her way stealthly to the tower. She had heard that zombies inside a tower could sense the slightest movement outside their domain, and did not wish to test that. She, however, hear the brief sounds of combat within, and one of the necromancers ran out of the tower shortly afterward. The necromancer himself kept approaching onul, drawing a knife, and then fleeing away. He even talked to onul, telling her about how the elves had declared war upon them for the deforestation efforts on-site. He directed me inside to get actual jobs, and in his sprinting state was simply too fast to chase down. onul agreed to take a job from the necromancer if he agreed to teach her how to read and how raise her own defenders.
Inside, the necromancers were vey pelasant to talk with, asking onul to strike down 2 criminals in large cities, a kobold camp, and a band of bandits. Sounding simple enough, onul set off to perform her task. Less than a mile down the road from the tower a female bandit stood, watching his progress. With a 2handed steel sword in hand, the female could not be dissuaded from attacking. Knocking onul on the ground with a shoulder-charge, the female swung down upon onul's neck. The blow was stopped by the ground, but only after lodging into onul's neck and bleeding an artery.
Grabbing the sword with her elbow-joint, onul swung at the lower body of the human, bruising her guts and buying time to wildly swing at her foot. After a struggle to maintain the sword through the only means she had, onul managed to crush the human into submission and took the sword back to the tower. She offered the blade to a necromancer in hopes of gaining favor, but recieved nothing of the sort. She'd have to do the job she was sent out to do.
The job took 3 days. onul faced little in the way fo resistance, but recieved the scorn of peasantry and even nobility.
Such insults were not taken well, and onul quickly crushed those who would consider themselves above her.
Her jobs finished, onul returned to reap her reward.
The mortal footsoldiers of the leader stood by, watching gleefully as she was disappointed.
She was told she would never be able to read, but still finding herself unable to catch the necromancer ringleader, who constantly sprinted away from her, onul decided to rest her body on location.
She learned that most of the zombies were out sieging the elves, and that The necromancer leader, Assulto, was attempting to break away from the human civilization they had previously been using as protection. Several zombies were out trying to ambush wanderers, the most prominent being a zombie who was animated in 24, over 80 years ago.
That necro tower being the only one in the world atm, and it having lost 3 necros before I even said boo, I want to avoid killing any of them. There is one camp with over 100 zoms, maybe I should look that up and visit it.
I'm also caught up to my current save.
