Partly-procedual creature descriptions
« on: August 09, 2015, 07:10:26 am »

Creatures could display some information that is affected by the world you currently play in. For example if there are lots of hippos, the hippo description can say: "This hippo is one of plenty.".

But if there are fewer in the world and a creature type is about to die out, you get "This elephant is one of the last remaining in this world.".

"This unicorn is the last of its kind."

Thinking of hippos, you could also have descriptions like "The hippo is known as a killer of a dwarves" if there have been a lot of KOs in worldgen.

The appearence of some creatures could also change depending on season :
* Duck : She has brown feather, a black beak, and violet feathers on her upper arms.
* Drake (male Duck) in Winter : He has brown feathers, a yellow beak, and blue feathers on his upper arms.
* Drake in Summer : He has silverish-grey feathers, a shiny green head, a yellow beak and blue feathers on his upper arms.

If your animals aren't expendable, you could always station a dwarf or two out there?

Here take a redbull, you will be up all night. And good hunting!

edit:

Actualy for the duck i wonder of you could code something like that right now. We got some tags for growthpaterns already. Stoats should be able to change furcollor (brown <> white) as well.
