A friend of mine that I know mostly from online is driving over in about 2-3 days to stay at my place for 1 week or so. The problem is, last time I had this specific friend over as company, I wasn't really able to come up with much to do besides hang around and build houses in Minecraft, and discuss possible ideas for fanfiction and the like. He said he hopes that "we'll be able to do more than video games together this time", and I agree. (I know I make it sound like that's all we did, but no; just a large chunk of it. It's a mainstay for both of us.)
I've already lined up a few things like going out to play mini-golf (which we both love), and co-op writing a comic sketch where each of us makes one scene and then passes it to the other. But time is FLYING by, and I'm starting to get anxious, 'cause I'm just not used to having company over for extended periods of time and having to come up with things to do that aren't part of my normal routine. (Seriously, I've had, like... only 3 major guests over in the last 2-3 years. They've all gone pretty well, but... yeah. I can be a recluse.)
So, I'm making this thread to ask: Anyone have any ideas for fun and engaging activities to try that you wouldn't mind sharing with someone who doesn't get out much? xD I'm open to most suggestions at this point. Sometimes something unrelated can make me think of a good one. Anyway, in case it's important for you to know, we have 2 cars, 2 computers, a high-definition TV, we're only 7 minutes drive from town, we have access to mini-golf, go-carts, bowling, pool, arcades, etc. in the area (within about an hour's drive, generally), and a very good movie theater. I've got 1 or 2 good people I could easily bring with on outings, as well.
If there's anything else you need to know, just ask. Thanks!
