Attempt at an infinetly-reuselable magma piston

I have and IDEA and im going to tdo some !!SCIENCE!!.
All help on magma and pistons apreciated!

Ill be using dfhack to auto dig/replce walls to make it easier. I also make dorfs superfats and spawn stuff in to help the reaerch. and my luxurious private adamantine palace

tl;dr: It is strictly applied science and there is certainly no need for cheats along the way. Just follow the original idea and make sure you turn part of the magma on top into obsidian each time you drop one step. Use cave-ins to remove most of the floors on the sides of the piston.

You can not automatise since it involves cave ins and digging, i.e. you always have to dig out the lowest level manually once you dropped the pillar into the reservoir, install sth. that triggers the drop and drop. Good luck. For truly automatic magma lifting use minecarts or pumps.
