Cooked Plump Helmets

Did the issue where cooked plump helmets wouldn't give seeds ever get fixed?  If not, is it definitely a bug, or is it intentional?

I'm pretty sure it's regarded as a bug; all the other cookable [sub-terranian (no good growing a strawberry bush where there's no light)] plants give seeds, iirc.

There aren't any other cookable sub-terranean plants, are there? Sweet pods, pig tails, cave wheat, and quarry bushes all get processed, not cooked.

There are. Plants will grow on unplotted mud.

I think he meant there are currently no other plantable subterranean plants that can be cooked without processing first.  Preserving seeds from the non-plantable bushes is irrelevant, as they can't be used for farming, only for delicious seed biscuits and the like.

I think I use some of those plants for brewing instead of processing, and I'm not sure that they give seeds back then.

They do. Brewing plump helmets doesn't ruin the seeds. Cooking them does, I think.
