31.25 dead civ embark

...I've been wondering this for a while. Since I liked to do "Age of Death" challenges in 40d... is there any way to make it so that you don't get any migrants or caravans in version 31.25, aside from just walling the whole map off?

You can gen a dead civ in older versions such as 31.25, but it is more rare than in new versions (barring RAW modding.)  No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you WILL ALWAYS receive two hard-coded waves of immigrants in 31.25 and earlier.  Caravans are more of a maybe, I am almost certain that you will only receive caravans from a site that has population in 31., but I am not completely certain.

Hrm, I'll have to see if I can get that to work. Granted, my main concern is caravans, since... I don't really want to trade, but I always end up doing so anyhow...

I've been trying to get into DF2012. It isn't happening.

I don't really know why, I just... don't like it. So for now, I'm sticking with the older and buggier version with fewer features.


(Also, I expected to get that question a lot sooner.)
