Forthcoming Vampire

I knew I had a vampire problem; a hapless armorer drained of blood in the middle of a public dormitory, with no witnesses. I was just getting around to looking for the abnormally enarged dark blue section of my latest migrants, when suddenly

I checked the justice screen, and the murder had no witnesses, so I don't know why they would reveal themselves like this? Moreover, the dwarf's profile doesn't contain the characteristic "huge multi-screen relationship list" that associated vampires in 0.34.

If your animals aren't expendable, you could always station a dwarf or two out there?

A vampire's idea of going "on break" is getting a nice drink from someone's neck.  You caught the screen at just the right instant.

Vampires get that characteristic long history and kill list because they don't die unless killed, but it's still possible to catch a "young" vampire.

Another good indicator of a vampire is "could really use a drink" or "can't remember the last time they had a good drink" in their profile.  Vampires are cursed to drink blood and not booze but are still booze-dependent.

I had the same thing happen back in 0.34 where my vampire broker decided to have a snack right as the traders came. He was a vamp in the depot menu.

Fixed.

I dont ever get vampires. Worlds I generate are young and sometimes don't have even necromancers.

Yep, when a vampire is feeding they revert back to their vampire unit type.  That's why you can sometimes spot them if you happen to be going through the housing area during feeding time, because they will be red.
