What's the cartoony font with the little bits and pieces sticking off of the letters? The letter width is inconsistent on single letters and it has small spirals and so on. Remember from primary school presentations, usually used for large headings.

Times new roman?

The little things hanging off are called serifs, which is what the "sans" part of many typefaces is about. sans (wihout) serif (the little dangly things).

a serif typeface, like times new roman, has the dangly bits.
a sans (serif) typeface lacks those dangly things.


Comic Sans lacks the dangly bits, but is cartoony (by design).

Helvetica/Arial is another sans serif face, and is only cartoony in the design world as a meta joke. (It was intended to be new and edgy against older sans serif faces, but its ubiquitous over-use renders that use self defeating, since it is the new normal that it sought to overcome.)
