On the CUSTOM_W thing, that's how you notate a reaction tied to a hotkey (Like how you can go to the carpenter and hit 'b' for bed.) it's always CUSTOM_(CAPITAL LETTER).

You do know that if you add a reaction to an entity you need to generate a new world? Because you do.

If you only need wood (logs) and iron (bars), can't you just createitem them via dfhack console?

We solved the problem.
The permitted_reactions were in the PLAINS entity (Humans) not the MOUNTAIN entity (Proper dwarves).
