Any way to make a reaction require multiple units of fuel? I don't want it to be a reagent if possible. I am trying to streamline steel production by making a reaction that only uses the raw materials:

this should be accurate at a normal smelter, but at a magma smelter it will require 1 too many units of coal. Any answers or workarounds?

If a reaction has [FUEL], the magma smelter will omit that.

Fantastic mini-mods' macroreduce has a reaction for that, and it actually uses one more coal and two fewer boulders than yours, huh.

Actually, yours is kinda weird. One iron ore gives 4 iron, not 1 as that seems to suggest.

Oh thanks, for some reason i though 1 ore = 1 iron. so maybe reaction will produce 2 iron bars as a bonus? or use double the other reagents to make 4 steel as your mod does(does it also omit the coal needed to smelt the iron and pig iron? i see the 4 units for pig iron and steel but none to smelt)

No, that ends up being extra. You could do it in a sort of automatic way with a silly token system like you can see macroreduce has.
