Do dwarven babies drink booze?

I found this bucket after some random dorf gave water to an abandoned baby.


Later I traced a certain give water job and found this:

Somehow someone dumped rum into your well. This is actually pretty interesting - does it still count as booze? If so, you've found a way to get booze to bedridden dwarves!

You are right.

I was wondering why the water in the well was yellow....
There was a pool of dwarven rum and some mud in it...  ::)

At least one of your dwarves has a problem. He doesn't metabolise alcohol fully. Plus he pees into the well.

It does not - whether or not a drink counts as alcohol is based entirely on the item type (DRINK versus LIQUID_MISC) and has absolutely nothing to do with the item's material.
