I heard that they scrapped Newtonian flight.  Is that true?  Tell me it isn't.

What do you mean by Newtonian Flight?

And that one doesn't work either, still no steam content servers.  When was the last time you played GMod?

I just tried that link and the download came up...  What's going on?

And Newtonian flight is where you retain momentum when flying.  So if you give your thrusters a kick and then kill the power, you'll keep going in the direction you were thrust towards.  This makes for some really cool flying, and it can be very nice when you're trying to outmaneuver someone.  You can even fly forward, kill the engines, turn around, and then fire backwards at the guy who's tailing you.  If he runs, you're already facing the right direction so you can start chasing him.

Dunno.  I haven't been paying enough attention to flight mechanics to tell.  And by no content servers I mean I've already downloaded and installed it, and I'm trying to run it.

Okay, try 9.0.0, see if that's the one.  But yeah, it's been a while since I played.

And no, there's nothing like that in ES, but the controls are like any FPS, but in space, so you can strafe and fly backwards very easily.  The controls are very slick.

One thing I don't like is they seem to have scrapped the whole external subsystems thing.  The game's pretty much devolved into:

1. Space
 -Bomb corvettes
 -Escort Bombers
 -Shoot down nukes

2. After corvettes are down.
 -Send gunships inside
 -Take subsystems
-Defend subsystems until corvettes respawn(3 minutes)

It's taken a lot of the spontaneity from the game.

Aw, damn...  They used to have Newtonian flight...  They even had a little toggle for it that you could switch on and off when you needed to.

Also, there are only two maps anyone plays.

I'm downloading Jailbreak now.

Well hey now, I just looked at their website and it has really changed since the last time I checked...  Now they actually have new weapons, not to mention other goodies.

Yeah, Jailbreak is really picking up.  I do recommend looking into Fistful of Frags if you ever get the hankerin' for the chance to perfect your mosey, however.

I think I'll just have to download this new version of Jailbreak...

I keep getting a DirectX crash on Jailbreak.  It seems like Source Engine games love to crash.  This is the same stuff that made me uninstall Insurgency.

What version of DirectX do you have?  I can't remember ever getting a DX crash on a steam game (I have had plenty of memory buffer overflows, however)...

Well, that's what I've got...  I haven't tried playing the new version of Jailbreak yet, so I don't know if I'm having similar problems with it.

And you said that you played Zombie Panic! from time to time...  What exactly is that zombie lunge thing?  I never got it to do anything except lower my feed-o-meter and make me gurgle something.

You speed up a little bit.  Not enough usually to do anything, but it makes you slightly faster than a human.
