Goblins, Whats up with them.
« on: March 23, 2015, 12:50:00 pm »

Goblins are one of my favorite species in the game, mainly because I get to kill them in the hundreds over the course of a fort. I recently noticed that they dont need to consume anything and they dont die of old age though and that seems kind of strange. Why dont goblins die(of natural causes) or need to eat?

Likes Goblins for their terrifying features because I can slaughter them with gleeful abandon.

In-universe answer: Goblins come from the underworld as servants of their demon masters. As such, they are minor supernatural beings who don't need food or water and never age.

Gameplay answer: It ensures that there's enough of them to keep pestering you. Since they don't need to eat they can sustain larger populations in world gen.

In universe answer: Goblins share a common ancestor with elves. This is not too far fetched, they are like elves are immortal (when it comes to age) and there's even a Threetoe story involving a child born half of elf and half of goblin, so they can interbreed to some extent.

Gameplay answer: Gorillion goblins guaranteed or your money back
