Longlands and his companions fought with valor, but the inexperienced party was no match for the seemingly endless hordes of the undead. He looked on as his companions fell one by one, not standing a chance against the mob of claws and teeth. With the necromancer himself nowhere in sight, the battle was clearly hopeless. After his last companion was defeated, Longlands decided to exercise the better part of valor and get the hell out of there. He ran for his life, fueled by adrenaline, but the undead abominations were too fast and Longlands too tired. The distance between him and his pursuers was closing in, but he ran on, determined to survive. He just needed to go a little further...

But he wasn't quite fast enough, and was quickly bludgeoned to death by fifty zombies.

And so ends the short life of Jason Longlands, the adventurer with big dreams who bit off a little more than he could chew. As you can probably see, this adventurer failed miserably. He lasted about ten minutes real time. I'll probably try this again tomorrow, hopefully with a bit more success.

Lasher Nebo Whiteskin left with her companion Histek Matchhugged. Together in The Stern Swamp they killed four capybaras and one anaconda. As day neared end they arrived at hamlet, Glidedclap. They hoped to to find place to rest for night, however this hope was crushed since the hamlet was full of undead. Nebo and Histek engaged the two visible zombies hoping to finish them quick enough. Unfortunately Histek met her doom and Nebo's heart was damaged badly.

Nebo tried to run away, but zombies were faster than her, always keeping up with her and trying to bite. Eventually she jumped into a river and swam to other side. Stupid zombies stopped on shore and didn't try to cross the river, not even using a bridge few hundred meters north.

She let out a breath of relief and continued her travels alone miraculously healing her heart in process. In next hamlet she let people know about what was happening at Glidedclap. In this very same hamlet a dwarf tried to steal her copper dagger, despite of his status as lieutenant. It might had have something to do with Nebo's questions about the hamlet's protection. Nebo wrestled her dagger back and ran away.

A bit to east there was a fort where she rested and recruited another person to travel with her; Quenir Plaitroar. Soon they encountered large collection of tombs called "Roundshoves". While she did pick few locks open, she figured angering entombed people was not worth of it and continued her travels to east. And still continues.

Hah, I started out in Roundshoves first time I tried, didn't post anything about it since I had my hacked-in wanderer's reactions inserted so it's not really true to the idea of the thread, but yeah, one of the dorf civs lets you start out in a vault with the fun experience of being told there is a bandit gang operating out of there... I'm like the only one there, so I'm a gang now, and you want me to kill myself?

Rude...

Do you want posts here or in a separate thread?  I've got quite a few images of this insane world and I havent really gotten anywhere yet.

hory sheet, look at the towers...

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

There isn't much middle ground between killed-by-dragon and never-seen-by-dragon.

Again, be wary of the westernmost tower south of the westernmost gob fortress, it's the tower that is almost inside of a hamlet, you will crash every time you enter it I think.

I have never played adventure mode for more than 2 in-game days. But this makes me want to do it. Anyone up for reading a n00b's attempt as a human outsider to complete a very difficult challenge on what looks like a very tough map?
