The Plane of Legends
« on: March 16, 2015, 10:21:59 pm »

Welcome to The Plane of Legends!

It is the year 100.  Across the world, demigods, heroes, and ordinary peasants are about to embark on a life-changing journey that will change this world forever.

Slay a dragon in a dwarven fortress destroyed long ago!  Sneak your way past the fearless hordes to learn the secrets of life and death!  Defend your civilization from an invading army!  Massacre goblins to your heart's content.  Duel demons on top the the tallest tower, and in the deepest crevasses of the Earth.  Go on a rampage through your hometown.  The possibilities are limited only to your imagination and the strength you possess.

This is a succession adventure mode game.  The rules are relaxed.  Once it's your turn, you have two days to acknowledge your turn, then must post at least twice a week.  Your turn ends when you die.  Also, try to develop characters beyond "let's just kill things."  Try to make a story out of it.  Other than that, go wild!

About the world: Ramal En, or The Plane of Legends, is a large world.  It has 150 civilizations, 300 megabeasts, almost all of which are still alive, and 250 semi-megabeasts.  Other than that, the only thing I changed were the openness of the caverns, to make them easier to explore, and the mineral scarcity, so civilizations are more likely to have iron and steel.

I'll get started once someone else signs up for a turn.

As it turns out, pulling every lever in the fortress wasn't as good of an idea as it sounded like at the time.

Ok, cool, someone signed up.  Yeah I'm going for the first turn, but second is all yours.  I'll post an updated sometime tomorrow, probably.

Mildly interested. Been a wile since I touched adventure mode so this would be a good reason to discover the new things, so sign me up I guess.

PTW Last time I played adventure mode I couldn't find any monsters and my companion kept messing with my elk stealth. So he killed me.

I remember hearing a voice.  It was beautiful, like an angel.  When she spoke, all worries melted away, all fears were forgotten, all life was renewed.  I remember feeling home.

No one knows who my mother was.  They say my father was a soldier, lost in a heroic battle against the elven kingdom of The Icy Embraces.  I have no memory of him.

I possessed unnatural strength, agility, and other physical achievements.  Some say I came from the heavens, destined to lead The Wilted Kingdom into a new age of peace and prosperity.

The greatest day of my life was Granite 1, 100.  On that day I became a hearthperson of The Coalition of Desserts.  And they make fun of my name.  The feast was magnificent.  Everyone drank to their heart’s content, and we were giddy with anticipation.  2 others, Islas Dresslaw and Tod Latheredcradeled, joined me.  We were knighted by our Lord and swore to protect the kingdom at all costs.

Granite 15, 100

I was ready.  I had prepared my entire life for this moment.  Today, I would become like my father, a hero in the eyes of men.

My lord reminded me that there is no need for violence.   "The kingdom," he said, "Has experienced a golden age for the past 30 years, unlike any other.

Despite his disagreement, I continued to ask to go.  Unlike him, I needed this.  I needed to go on this adventure.  I needed to live up to my father's memory.  Eventually, he finally gave in to my request.

He also gave me directions to another nearby bandit camp.  He then said I was free to take any of the weapons or armor stored below, as well as take anyone I wished with me.  I think he was just tired of me talking to him.

Quickly, I found a full set of iron armor.  Islas and Tod were both equally excited to leave.  Finally, I spoke with Lekla Drumblunted.

Lekla, despite being only 18, had the most experience outside the hamlet of all of us.  He had seen the outside world, and unlike most, came back.  Despite not agreeing with my quest or my enthusiasm, I persuaded him too to join us.  We would need his skill with an axe if we were to be attacked.

Armored, armed, and among allies, we set out.

We had a long journey ahead of us.

OOC: Sorry about the boring first update, that homework took longer than I thought it would.  I've played more than just the beginning, so far the adventure includes a goblin massacre, a flying zombie ambush, and a genocidal Law-Giver.
@Demonic Spoon: I added you to the turn list.
