Diverting liquids from half-way up a pump stack

I've lucked out with my latest fort; I'm able to place a magma-to-surface pump stack very near the river that will also pass near my workshops and break the surface near my entrance and "fully-equipped" trade depot. Naturally this lets me apply my wonderful !!resource!! to invaders, smelting and obsidian farms all with one pump stack, but to make it work optimally I need that one pump stack to deliver magma to three different levels on-command. It occurred to me that blocking off the input tile so the next pump in the stack cannot "draw" from it would be ideal; I could then open the "fill" tiles with floodgates/bridges and divert it into whatever channel I desire.

The problem is; I'm not sure how best to do this. A floodgate could easily be built over the input tile, but I'm not sure a closed floodgate also blocks a pump from drawing from a tile below it, since there's technically no "floor" there. A bridge would certainly do the trick, but then I'd need a place to anchor the edge of it. Has anyone else dealt with this before, who could give me a few ideas, or advice?

I've always used hatch covers to seal off the input tile.

Magma-safe hatch covers to block the input tile are the traditional way to go. But doors/floodgates in the output tile might stop the pump from drawing in any magma. A retracting bridge should work like hatch covers to block magma when extended, if you want to block a wider pump stack, and a raising bridge might block the output tile when raised, same as a door or floodgate. There are most likely other options which would also work,  though I haven't tested any method beyond hatch covers myself.

I've actually split the pump stack to give the different parts separate power controls, but a magma safe hatch is probably a better solution if you're not on borderline power.

They don't even need to be magma-safe, unless the pump itself is submerged in magma...
