So, does anyone know what's the difference ? More drainage ? Rainfall ?

I am having enough of seeing so much tropical moist broadleaf forests generated into my worlds, and it's loads of useless animals.

These values are probably still fairly accurate.

There's nothing about differentiating broadleaf and coniferous forests in here...

Apologies, I'm being exceptionally stupid today.

From the talk page:

"Forest becomes Broadleaf in high temperatures, which makes it the only biome in world editor that is dependant on temperature. Im guessing that the character for Conifer actually serves for temperate conifer and broadleaf, and the broadleaf icon means tropical broadleaf forest, because thats what the rain/temp/drain stats suggest, and otherwise there would be no differentiation between temperate and tropical."

Probably useless, but it's something. Other than that there's nothing that I've heard of.

Ah, so broadleaf is dependent on temperature ? Though I've got a few Hot Tropical Coniferous Forests.

Should see if I get scorching TCF's.

Thanks anyway.

I'd say that apply only on the colder climates. Ie. no broadleaf forests in cold and freezing areas. Not really sure what the game uses to divide Tropical Moist Boradleaf and Tropical Coniferous. If we go by real world most or all of the conifer heavy forests in tropics proper (as opposed to sub-topics) can be found in high alititudes, but I've seen TCF's right next to coast ingame.
