Claimed workshop question
« on: February 03, 2015, 09:36:05 pm »

I had a dorf claim a workshop.. a forge.  However, he wants blocks (which I do not have).  I need the darn forge to create the blocks which he needs, but he wont let go of the darn thing LOL.

I built some doors and then forbid the iron bars he had picked up and locked him in a section of the hallway away from the forge, but I still cannot dismantle it.  Is there no way at all to manipulate a workshop once it has been "claimed"?

Does he want metal blocks specifically, or could you make stone blocks?
I don't know about dismantling his forge, but if you have a spare anvil you build another forge.

As Pirate Santa said, "block" requirements are usually satisfied with any kind of blocks, stone, wood, or glass, or pottery (or metal, of course). Thus, just have your mason split a stone and that demand should be easily satisfied.

I usually just, you know, make another forge. With glass moods, it's quite frequent that, if I'm not on a sandy embark,  a glassmaker goes moody before I have any glass furnaces set up I always make two in that case, I have no raw glass, and it's almost certain the moody dwarf will want some.
