so i'm two or three years in with a baron on df2014 and i get an odd message:



my first though was "What?"

i zoom in and i see this guy is a vamp too. i'm wondering if i agree to something with him will i get a new caravan?

He's probably from a human civ.

Animal people and vampires can settle in human civs, and take up positions of authority. It is not that uncommon to see vampires and animal people show up as the trade liason or as the diplomat.

I've even seen DEMONS show up as the diplomat from human civs.

Keep in mind that if you keep him waiting long enough for an interview, he will help himself to a snack. I have had this happen.
Lizard man vampire is new to me though.

Not sure your proof is actually proof. Members  of friendly civs do not trigger traps.

The Proof is quite contrary.  Human diplomats will make human siegers immune to traps they can see.
  Rebuiliding the old ones or making new ones after the diplomat leaves might be a good idea.
