You Make The Rules!
« on: January 07, 2015, 04:29:31 pm »

(Based on the earlier thread You Only Build Once. Rules from that thread do NOT apply here, unless someone makes them again).

DESCRIPTION
Descriptive points. May change as the thread proceeds.

This is a multi-fortress and multi-adventurer succession thread open to all.

This is a silly thread.

This thread will use a newly generated world using vanilla DF 0.40.24 and Phoebus' Graphics Set.

This thread would probably work better with a quick turn around.

LAWS
The following laws may only be changed by the OP of the thread (i.e. ptb_ptb). They probably won't be changed.

1. At some point during a player's turn (start, during or end) the player may add or remove one rule.

2. Proposed use of raw modifications and dfhack scripts must get the OK from ptb_ptb.

3. ptb_ptb will give players who have made a turn the opportunity to veto use of raw modifications and dfhack scripts.

4. New bugs encountered should be reported to the bug tracker with relevant saves if at all possible.

5. If you encounter a known bug you should consider submitting a save file and / or comments to the relevant bug report.

RULES

Rule #1 Kobold Points 1: There is a new currency in the game: Kobold Points (KP)!   By utilizing kobold adventurer(s) you can earn these points by killing things as follows (kills must appear in the kobold's kill list):
* Each non-noteworthy (animal) kill is worth 1 KP
* Each kill of an evil or dwarven-war sentient (goblins, bandits, war targets, etc) is worth 5 KP
* Each kill of a non-zombie, non-werebeast night creature is worth 10 KP
* Each kill of a werebeast or zombie is worth 25 KP
* Each kill of a Semi-megabeast is worth 100 KP
* Each kill of a mega-beast, titan, or forgotten beast is worth 250 KP
* Each demon kill is worth 500 KP
* Killing a kobold for any reason is a penalty of 100 KP.  Even if they started it.
Made in: Turn one by tacomagic

Rule #2 Project Baby Boom. A player may declare a new fortress as part of Project Baby Boom when embarking. If there are ever more fortress member dwarf deaths than the total of babies born then Baby Boom has failed for that fortress.
Made in: Turn two by ptb_ptb

Rule #3 A player must prove his worth before being allowed to work adamantine. He must create and sacrifice to the magma sea an artifact, which can be either; An aluminium armour artifact, a platinum blunt weapon artifact or any artifact of slade.

I was doing dwarf relationship science. Then, after 12 game years or so, eveybody died. :P

Obviously init files etc. can be changed freely.

The kobold adventurer need not survive, but rather you can keep a running tally of all kills made by all kobold adventurers you have ever made living or dead!  Kills should be tallied at the end of any given kobold turn.

As yet, there is no use for these points, this will be fleshed out in future rules.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I was actually doing pretty well.  Had disabled two of the three lions by tactical fire placement, rock throwing, and severing leg nerves.  And then the only lion I had left to disable got in a good swat.  The mauling that followed was short and brutal.  C'est la vie.

0 confirmed kills. Bugger.

Eh, that's long enough. I'm taking another turn.

After meditating on this her interpretation was that Armok was displeased by the casual and careless use of adamantine. Thus I proclaim the following rule:

Rule #3 A player must prove his worth before being allowed to work adamantine. He must create and sacrifice to the magma sea an artifact, which can be either; An aluminium armour artifact, a platinum blunt weapon artifact or any artifact of slade.
