The year is 1931, prohibition is in it's last years, organized crime is at all time high and still classy. But, you don't have to concern yourself with all that drama, for you just boarded the trans continental express named (unfortunately) The Flying Pussyfoot, the must luxurious train from Chicago to New York City. And nothing bad can happen to you here right? Right? Wrong! Not one, but two hostile groups are fighting for control over the train. No one is safe anymore, and with no signs of help your own survival is in your hands. Who will live through this most horrifying event? Play and find out in Baccano The RTD!
This RTD is based upon the world of Baccano!. Though this game will take place in similar settings to Baccano!, I will be more focused on recreating the feel and atmosphere, rather than the events or characters. There will also be more supernatural elements than in Baccano!, including some from Durarara!!, as they seem to share a continuity and style. It will be a mixture of an arena and a mission based RTD. My hope for this game is to tell a story about awesome characters doing suitably amazing things, and I hope we all can work together to make this a memorable and great game!

Baccano! takes place mostly in early 1930's New York. Prohibition is running strong and so is organized crime. Mafia families and other groups fight for power and money. On top of all this, the world is more than it seems: urban legends can be true, people can become immortal, demons watch our world curiously, and who knows what else. Whether by chance or by fate, some of the most unique and supernatural people in the world find themselves on a luxurious train going from Chicago to New York: The Flying Pussyfoot(obligatory laughter)

All rolls will be made on dice which go from 0 to 5, most rolls will involve multiple dice. The sum of all dice will be used and will be compared to a TN or contested roll. A TN is a target number which is higher or lower depending on the situation, for instance, doing acrobatics around a moving train will require a higher roll than playing hopscotch. Occasionally modifiers will be added depending on the situation. Most modifiers will consist of a number added to or subtracted from the sum, but major modifiers may add or remove a die.

Appearance:Be creative.
Color of speech: e.g. "red" "green with blue glow" "beige with black glow" This should help make it clearer who's speaking and differentiate in game speech from out of character speech.
Attributes: You get 7 points to put into different stats, each point is another die that is rolled for that attribute. You automatically have 1 die for each attribute to begin with. A maximum of three points can be put into any one attribute (for a total value of 4).
Badass: Your strength and skill, badassery allows you to perform great and amazing feats.
Luck: How lucky you are, duh.
Presence: Your ability to impact people around. Can include persuasion and intimidation. This does include influencing other players. Others will have to use Bravery to resist intimidation and awareness to resist persuasion.
Bravery: Your ability to persevere through fear and pain.
Awareness: How observant and knowledgeable you are.
Badass or Awareness is used for stealth, whichever is higher

Example:A is attempting to sneak up on B, A's Badass is higher than his Awareness, so he rolls his Badass against B's Awareness. B wins the roll, and so she see's A before he can attack. Doubting her ability to win in a fight, B decides to intimidate A, rolling Presence against his Bravery. A wins the roll, and attacks with his knife. They both roll badass against each other, and B loses the roll. They then both roll luck, and B wins, so she is only slightly wounded, and won't be too impeded in future rolls.

The first two people to sign up for characters are in charge of a faction. They both are fighting for control of the train. There are about a dozen people in each faction, but beyond that the nature and motivation of the group is up to you. One faction starts at the front of the train, the other at the back. First to sign up decides what side of the train they start on.

Appearance: A frenchman with a cold calculating demeanor. Hes middle aged, but still quite fit, has grey hair, pale skin, grey eyes and wears a nice grey suit.

Faction: he is the leader of some gang, which is planning on making some sort of robbery or something on the train.

Appearance: A Soviet Russian dressed in very professional wear (whatever that was in those times). He is both secretive and imposing.

Faction: He is the leader of a faction of Soviet spies sent to derail the train as a distraction. (If they are on the back)
