Muddy floors transforming stone to soil. Known bug?
« on: January 03, 2015, 07:11:25 am »

[EDIT] After checking, I was wrong and bug 4492 is right. I'm not sure it's actually a duplicate of bug 1573 though.

I could have sworn this was a known bug, but I can only find this which is a little different.

Underground natural stone floor, apply mud, build stone floor, deconstruct.
Result: Underground soil floor.

You don't need anything to grow on it, as far as I can tell.

More like a design flaw than bug. Probably there's only one layer.

Like if you build a floor over a ramp then destroy the floor, the ramp is gone.

Yah, but rock layers/veins are procedurally generated so in theory it could come back as the same rock that it 'knows' is right for that location.

It's probably a new bug, you should report it. I hate it when that sort of thing happens because I'm a bit anal about fortress decoration

By the way, how do you remove mud from floors?

Build a piece of furniture like a statue or chest on that tile then remove it

Have you tried that recently?

It is a very old bug that even exists in 34. My interpretation is that it's chemical reaction in df.

Well I noticed a similr issue today.

I smoothed some adamantine floors then build a royal mausoleum on top of them.

Thinking it would be cool to add some walls, I built some granite walls around the coffin. Then I noticed the mausoleum became a burial chamber.

I deconstructed the walls and all adamantine floors were gone.

Or smooth that floor tile.
