Frozen rivers should be passable in fast-travel (adv-mode)

Title is pretty self-explanatory. There really isn't any reason why you should have to exit fast travel if you are just going to walk over the river like any other piece of ground. There have been suggestions before about being able to fast-travel over rivers if you are a master-level swimmer and stuff like that and some people have differing opinions but I think this is something that everyone would agree is a good idea.

So should regular ones if you have swimming at a reasonable level.

Aye, both this and the stupid companions.
Perhaps giving companions the ability to swim rather than wait for you to get back over the river to them might help.

If you're careful you can teach your companions to swim. Or did that change in the recent update? I haven't been on an adventure in a good while.

It might still be possible, but even if it is it's incredibly unlikely. Unskilled swim speeds got a massive drop in .40. It used to be you'd move at a third your normal speed, which, while low, isn't as bad as it is now, which is an apporximate one tenth your normal movement speed. That's less than one third the old unskilled swim speed. This means that learning how to swim can easily end up lethal for a player controlled character. Just imagine how unlikely it is for the AI to succeed.
