Forgotten Temple RPG

Briefing

You are an adventurer who discovers a temple. Strange it wasn't discovered earlier, with it towering 500 feet above the ground. Other adventurers are with you, and you all start exploring.

Rules: (I know you'll all skip this, but it's to stop you doing stupid stuff)
 You must figure out why the temple's there, it's history, and maybe start a tourism business.

Here's a template for you to copy and paste to make your characters

Name:
Age:
Backstory: (Why are you in the adventuring business? Ideally, just leave it blank if you want, I don't mind)
Traits: Good and bad
Equipment: (3 major items like pistols and pickaxes and 5 small items like matches and stuff)
Skills: (Cause Indiana Jones didn't just walk out of the boulder's way)

I can only fit 4 players, because this is the first RPG I've made, and I haven't gotten the hang of it yet. And watch out for random traps and- you know what? If I just told you now, it won't be very fun and entertaining. Just beware dangerous stuff in the forgotten temple. Good luck and don't panic. 😖

I'll watch for now. I'll give tips as needed.

Personally I recommend setting it up as an adventuring party rather then have a no kill rule. Have the players get a vested interest in keeping the other people alive.

Also what's stopping them from looting the walls? First rule of adventuring. Take everything not nailed down and come back with a crowbar and siege equipment to get the rest. Find an in story reason as to why they can't just build a trebuchet and break the tower.

Suicide makes sense in character. Don't just restrict it to out of character reasons. if IC, the character would off himself, let him.

Why the crap not swearing? We're all adults/late teens. Why in the seven hells is that a problem?

O-k, let's just screw all the rules...

I just deleted all the rules apart from the objective.

I've got a chance generator here, and if it's 5 or lower, then what the character does is a complete screw up and works AGAINST the character, 6-15 Fails, 16-30 Just works, but not very effectively, 31-50 Works OK, 50-75 Works exactly how they want it to, 76-100, Works exactly how they want it to and they get a little bit extra.

Actually, since I have no hosting experience whatsoever, I'll just stop this RPG and see how other hosts act

Backstory:  Actually, Loot despises adventuring.  As far as other things go, he's quite interested in woodcrafting.  But with Loot's family history, settling down as an artisan was never an option: Loot's father was an adventurer.  And his father before him, as was the one before him, and the one before that, and the one before that...
Traits: Disinterested (bad), Born to Adventure (good)
Equipment: Machete (major), bronze armor (major), leather backpack (major), matches (minor), woodcrafter's knife (minor), binoculars (minor).
Skills: Proficient woodcrafting, adequate swordfighting, competent armor-using.
