I prefer iron discs, tbh.

Copper/silver warhammers are good if you have no iron. Copper discs also should  work decently.

I would assume a giant silver spiked ball would be OK, as well, but I've never tried it.

Possibly, but IIRC failed piercing attacks turn to blunt ones, which is a good thing for a massive hunk of dense metal.

yeah acording to the wiki the spiked balls do the same damage as menacing spikes, but if the piercing attack fails, then it converts to blunt.

Piercing >= Blunt > slashing.  imo.

Glass can be heavy. It depends on how giant the spiked balls are.
