Sleep on the battle field
« on: December 29, 2014, 09:04:39 pm »

I wonder how was that possible.

To test how strong it was I sent several squads against a great horned owl corpse.
But a newly promoted mace lord fell asleep near the target. The other dorfs charged the undead, limbs were flying, heads were rolling, and many fallen dorfs reanimated and joined the undead... but the mace lord just snored soundly(a flashing "Z" over him), ignoring the battle completely.

....seriously? O.o That Dorf deserves a cold shower and only water to drink for a whole year.

I guess a possible forgotten/never noticed syndrome that had spread was not the cause of it?

Yeah, not a syndrome.
I heard dorfs had an infamous habit to sleep in the wilderness, but I never saw that before.

I had this happen to a miner while digging out plumbing.  He mined that final tile to open up the water, walked a few tiles up the tunnel and just fell asleep.  He promptly drowned. You'd think drowning would be something to wake up even the deepest sleepers... but nope.  He drowned.  Like a dumbass.
