Town Nishrur "Tradedruns"
« on: March 20, 2015, 09:51:23 pm »

Seven dwarves, each with their own aspirations and goals set out to strike the earth at Tradedruns.  Amongst them were many different personalities and professions, firstly we have Ilral Vabokshetbeth, once a soldier to the king himself, skilled with the axe.  However he was forcefully removed from his position as a soldier due to his high prejudice towards elves which led to one of the kings' elven advisors getting involved in a fatal "accident".  Second is Atir Besmardatan, a clumsy fellow who had a thing for wood, he dreamt of becoming the head carpenter in Tradedruns but his clumsiness had led to him nearly cutting off his finger the last time he worked with wood.  Then there were the two miners, Mosus Besmarasol and Ablel Dakasmeng, they both had minor training in metalworking skills but they aspired to dig out the heart of the fortress and make the foundations of a legacy.  There was also Zuglar Ducimokir the farmer, he had worked on a farm a majority of his life, however, upon reaching Traderuns he was required to fish and that was the spark that lit a passion inside him for fishing.  Then there was ezum Rovodsheget the engraver, he dreamed of recording all of the fortress' history within the walls and floors so it would never be forgotten.  Finally there was Imush Asshetbeth, he wasn't skilled in anything, he had some minor training as a mason but nothing substantial and he was mostly there to fill any needed positions.  Together they began to start the beginning of something grand.

And so they began planning and laying out the fortress while Atir began to chop down trees for wood for the fortress.  Mosus and Albel began to dig out an entry stairway to the fortress and Zuglar was fishing for pond turtles.  Suddenly they heard a crash, and Zuglar yelled, so the other dwarves ran to see what happened.  While Atir was chopping trees he had gotten distracted by Zuglar's fishing and did not pay attention to the plum tree that was falling towards him.  The tree fell on him and crushed his head killing him instantly.  Although everybody knew he'd be the first to die it was quite early, and they were already down a dwarf, accidents like these tend to spell doom for a fortress.  Quickly, so they would not disturb his spirit, Mosus and Albel rushed to dig out a tomb for him, neither of them expected the first thing they'd dig out would be a tomb, but at least it was something.  Imush made a rough, yet functional casket and laid it in the tomb and for safety he placed 6 more caskets in the tomb, each for the remaining six dwarves.

After that chaotic debacle Mosus and Albel began to dig out the main fortress: a large room with 12 smaller rooms surrounding it, each for workshops.  They then carved out stockpiles rooms for each group of 3 workshops and connected the rooms with hallways.  Then they carved out the floor above that, and dug out a dining room and rooms for the necessary stills, butcheries and kitchens.  By the time they were done it was already winter, the dwarven caravan came and left and they had not sold anything.  But the 6 remaining dwarves compiled a list of things that they would need the next year and sent it with the goblin diplomat in hopes of having a more fruitful year...

I shall continue this whenever I have the chance!  Hope you enjoy!
