Okay, working on my mod, fixed an issue with sterility not working, and then I noticed that, due to changes I made with the external program linked on my download page (see link below) all gendered dwarves description cuts off abruptly. You get the base raw descriptor, then it says "Her" or "His" and then nothing else. The dwarves with no_gender work exactly as intended though. This is true of anything with a gender.

Meph was helping me but he can't figure it out either. The dfinit program isn't super easy to figure out, and it's just changing some values in the system, but the changes I made shouldn't have the affect they are having. It does this for all genders, even the base male and female caste which are unmodified in my raws.

Can anyone help out? There just doesn't seem to be anything that should be not working.

I've tried this with the base template for said program as well, with similar results.

It just changes instances of it and its in the descriptions to they and their. But it's having bigger effects than that.

I know why it doesnt work (either the string dump is wrong, or the patcher doesnt work with 40.19 anymore), but I dont know how to fix it.

it's weird because it works perfectly on changing it to they and the those descriptions work fine.

Okay just going to reuse this topic because I am still trying to find a solution to genderfluid dwarves, as well as them potentially having relationships.

Is it possible some of this could be done with a dfhack script? I'm not sure how much power dfhack has. Obviously, manually making people marry each other is pointless.

Changing the pronouns isn't working. They and their are too long and it's causing problems because of that, and there is just no way to fix it.

I haven't look at the string dump, but I do know that some of them are picky that the replacement string be the same number of characters.  If he and she are in that category, it'll be really tough to fix without sounding silly.  "Un" is a genderless pronoun for "one" as in young uns.
