yea cave adaptation happens fast and is brutal. Every fort I've had lately has been covered in vomit from nauseous dwarves. I have to win fights by numbers a lot of times because my dwarves are so disabled topside.

Also, it just seems like the spellcheck for this forum should be modified so dwarves is a part of the vocabulary. :?.

It should be.

The best solution for cave adaptation is to have fighting dwarves train in constructed buildings. For some reason they still count as light despite being indoors, and cave adaptation is avoided.

On the item is an image of a dwarf and an elephant. The elephant is striking down the dwarf.

For old times' sake.

That's not a bad idea, actually. I know roofed buildings like that count as neither outside or underground for adaptation and do not give points to either. So I might do opened roof stuff.

Well having them patrol in the sunshine every once in awhile is still a good idea, don't want the adaptation to take hold from wandering the underground while off duty
