Sorta wondering why there isn't a thread for this kind of stuff.
Basically. This thread is for getting an outside viewpoint on minor/mediumish choices or decisions.
Like when you have a mental debate with yourself on doing something or making a decision.
If the choice is major, it probably belongs in Life Advice. But your call.
Rules:Constructive feedback/suggestions only. Offering alternate viewpoints is fine, making stupid jokes about stuff important to people is not.
Don't start fights, give your opinion and possibly something to back it up, don't argue for the sake of arguing. Keep it friendly.
Don't talk down to people. If someone is considering something you would never do, don't be mean, just state your opinion if you feel strongly about it. Don't fight though.
Know when to disengage. Sonething personally I think a number of forumites and former forumites due to bans could have known. Self Restraint is a very useful thing to have. This thread may give a little practice.

I am considering changing my screenname/username in everything from Kevak to Neri.
Now with most people, this isn't an issue, it's just a name.
But with me, my username has always been the name of my mind's Guide.
My brain is a little weird. Apparently wasn't like it before the Incident, but I can't remember much besides tiny snippits from before that. You see, when I make a character, it's alive. It's a living breathing person, they just happen to be in my mind. I don't understand why it happens and honestly I think I would prefer if they were physically real for many reasons.
Kevak was born years ago, he was my first living character. He acted as a role model and guide for the first several years of my life Post Incident that I can remember. He was confident and intelligent, skilled with many many things and quite inventive. Ever curious he knew much more then most people. However he was more then a bit rigid, inflexible often, somewhat antisocial, and didn't like being around people often. He understood people just fine. He just didn't care in the slightest about most. Too busy with other things. He was also more then a little naive. He just diesn't forget much once it's happened. He got frustrated easily though and was quick to judge.
Of late. Within the past year or so, Kevak has been stepping down from his position as my Guide in favor of a newer character. I didn't find out the newer character's name until about a month ago.
His Name was Neri.
I just wasn't ready to know it until a month ago.
Neri is considerably more social then Kevak was. More then a tad forgetful when it comes to names, but remembers even the finest detail about anything he sees so long as it isn't a name. He's hyper and outgoing, but rather over emotional sometimes. Extremely clingy as well. He doesn't let go until it's made clear whatever he is clinging to can't happen. Also extremely naive, considerably more so then Kevak. Although he is extremely empathetic and not only understands most people, but cares about them quite a lot. One of his main goals is for the sad people he knows to start being happy somehow, although he hasn't got the slightest idea how to manage this. He's rather fragile emotionally but always pulls himself back together if something goes wrong. For those of you who have noticed my occasional emotional breakdown that have caused most of my forumgames to grind to a halt, as well as my several week absence from the forum a while back, that was something irl that sorta caused a major issue for me emotionally, and the character who's the Guide tends to have a bleedover reaction. Their reaction affects mine, and in Neri's case, it causes a cascade of a downwards emotional spiral til one of us climbs back up. The positive side of this is that I'm much more aware of my emotions and what I want since Neri took over for Kevak. Neri is absurdly introspective, and this can cause a good number of issues as well as be a good number of solutions.
My Dilemma is should I change my name? It wotkd acknowledge that Kevak finally just isn't what I need for a guide anymore, He used to be but not anymore.
He'll still be alive.
He just won't be the main character so to speak. Moving to the background mentory character. Letting Neri have the stage.
Just.. Hard choice.
